The New "Big Kitten" Set
Rufus busted the whole gang out this morning by wiggling the zipper open and freeing his comrades. The tent came down, mess was made, but luckily it was a Saturday, when HearMeRoarKittens (Roar) was already planning on redoing the room. I (KittenRescues) went to Big Lots! to help fill out the new setup and came home with lots of fun things for the kittens. Rewarding bad behavior with new toys isn't usually advised, but they are so cute I just couldn't help it! Kudos to Roar for all the hard work in cleaning up the mess and rearranging the room to suit the new Free-range kitten set.
Here is the video of Rufus bustin' out of his tent prison with his gang of hooligans:

Scarlett to the rescue, part 2
Super Scarlett is at it again. A tiny kitten was found in the street by a friend of kittykat's brother. He fed the kitten until we were able to see if Scarlett could help. Scarlett has helped the little grey fluffball feed so we're hoping that continues. His name is Welker and he is adorable.

Zelda and Her Doctor
Zelda, one of our Kitten Cam stars, had a very severe eye issue resulting in it's removal. A HUGE THANK YOU DR BROADWATER of Animal Eye Specialty Clinic for taking great care of our Sweet Zelda.
She is doing very well post op thanks to the tender loving care of vet tech extraordinaire, Rose.
P.S. Meet Dr Broadwater at Pet-a-Palooza this Saturday at Carlin Park and thank him for making Zelda feel better :)
Snips Day for Delray Cam Boys
from KittenRescues
Tad, Marlin and Gill went in for their neuters and microchips today. Tad (tuxedo) has been at his forever home since Sunday and met up with his Delray Kitten Cam buddies this morning at Riverbridge Animal Hospital. Gill and Marlin are hoping to find their furrever homes this weekend. Good luck boys!
Gill isn't sure what is happening |
Marlin is ready to explore the vet office. Fun time? |
Tad. Taken on Sunday when he was going to his furever home. (New mom declined to be photographed. Obviously KR should have spent more time on her own hair) |
Surgery Updates
from KittenRescues
After surgery, Zelda went to another one of our stellar foster's, a vet tech named Rose who works at Lund Animal Hospital, one of the amazing vet offices who work with us. With Rose she can get premium nursing care for these post-op days. She is in a plastic collar and has various medications for her eye and pain. It is not determined yet if she can come back to Roar's house, but we will keep you updated with her status and get pictures and video very soon.
The surgeries of Gatsby, Daisy and Chance were postponed another week. Last week there was a shortage of blood tests which bumped our cat appointments a week, so this week was really jammed. A couple of puppies really needed to get worked in so we gave the spots to them. Those puppies will get adopted this weekend and the foster will be freed up to save new puppies, while HearMeRoarKittens's home will still have Hugo and Rufus so she would not be able to take new ones in yet, so we made the call that the puppies were more urgent. That means you all get to enjoy them one more week!

Zelda Out of Surgery
from Love_my_cats
Our little Zelda has come through her procedure like a champ! She is resting comfortably at the surgical center at the moment and will spend the better part of the day recovering. It has been a journey. Dr. Broadwater has been treating her with many medicines but unfortunately, the eye and the lids were so fused together, that it could not be saved.... so we did have to move forward with the removal of Zelda's left eye.
Since the eye has been out of commission for weeks, for Zelda, it will not be much different but she will be infection free and pain free. Once she recovers, she will lead a normal life and you can bet that she will be just as playful and active as she always is in a few weeks. Later today, we will post a picture of our little girl with periodic updates on her recovery.
We are still working on figuring out who will be her caretaker while she recovers. Because of the extensive nature of the surgery and the cone to protect her eye, she cannot go back into the kitten cam tent. If she does not go back to HearMeRoarKittens' house and to another foster, we will try and post pictures and video of her progress and arrange visits to the cam if possible, if our fosters' schedules permit.
From the bottom of our hearts and on behalf of baby Zelda, THANK YOU for all of your support an donations that allowed A Second Chance to proceed with Zelda's surgery. You are an amazing group of fans -- dedicated, and relentless about the health and upbringing of our kitten cam babies.

Zelda has discovered dogs
Zelda has been fascinated with my dogs. This picture catches her in mid tumble as she's decided whenever a dog is around she needs to wiggle her belly at them. That's my lovely doggie, Paxton, watching the show
